About Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens
The Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens cover about 7 hectares on the riverbank beside the town centre. They opened in 1981 and display, in separate gardens, the region’s cultivation styles over four centuries.
There is an Acadian garden with a replica late-17th-century log house, kitchen gardens and wattle fences; an 18th-century government garden; a Victorian garden with colorful beds; and a rose collection with hundreds of varieties. Paths lead to the dykes and the river’s tidal marshes.
The gardens have benches, ponds and large trees, and change colour through the season, from spring tulips to summer roses and autumn leaves.
