About Kwisitis Visitor Centre
The Kwisitis Visitor Centre sits on a rocky point at the southern end of Wickaninnish Beach, in the Long Beach sector of Pacific Rim National Park, about 10 km from Ucluelet. Kwisitis is the Nuu-chah-nulth name for the place.
The exhibits tell the history and culture of the Nuu-chah-nulth nations, who have lived on the coast for thousands of years, with canoes, artifacts and stories, and explain marine life, whales and the temperate rainforest. Large windows look out to the Pacific and the beach.
Short coastal trails leave from the centre, such as the Nuu-chah-nulth Trail, which crosses the forest to another beach. The centre is open in the main season; the park charges an entry fee. Check dates and the current schedule.
