About Hot Springs Cove
Hot Springs Cove is in Maquinna Provincial Park, in Clayoquot Sound, about 40 km north of Tofino. You can only reach it by boat, a crossing of about 1½ hours, or by seaplane from Tofino. On the way, boats often pass areas with whales, sea lions and eagles.
From the dock, a wooden boardwalk of about 2 km crosses the temperate rainforest to the springs. The hot water emerges from the rock, flows down a small waterfall and forms natural pools among the stones, which cool as they mix with seawater at high tide.
The site is on Hesquiaht First Nation territory. There are no services at the springs, and the pools are small and fill up at common boat arrival times.
