About Mount Revelstoke and Meadows in the Sky
Mount Revelstoke National Park sits just above the town of Revelstoke in the Selkirk Mountains. The Meadows in the Sky Road climbs 26 km in switchbacks up the slope, from the wet cedar forest to the treeline, with viewpoints over the Columbia River valley.
From the upper parking area, a shuttle bus or a short trail leads close to the summit, at about 1,900 meters. There, alpine meadows bloom with wildflowers such as lilies, lupines and paintbrush at the end of July and in August. Trails continue to mountain lakes like Eva and Miller, and to an old fire lookout tower.
Along the Trans-Canada Highway the park also has trails through cedar forest and the Skunk Cabbage wetland, with boardwalks.
