About Arrowhead Provincial Park
Arrowhead Provincial Park lies a few kilometres north of Huntsville, amid lakes and forested hills. It is smaller and quieter than Algonquin and easy to visit in half a day.
In summer the park has lake beaches, canoeing, short trails and Stubb's Falls, a stepped rock waterfall on the Little East River. A viewpoint over the river valley shows the plain formed on the bed of an ancient glacial lake. In autumn, the maples around the lakes turn vivid colours.
In winter the park is known for its roughly 1.3 km skate trail through the forest, lit on some nights, as well as cross-country ski and snowshoe trails. The park is managed by Ontario Parks and charges a daily entry fee; check the current schedule.
