About Dune du Sud Beach

Dune du Sud beach is on the south coast of Havre-aux-Maisons Island. At one end low red sandstone cliffs form arches, tunnels and caves that can be reached on foot at low tide or by kayak. At the other end the beach opens onto pale sand and dunes that extend for kilometers.

The sea is shallow near the shore and, in high summer, the water is usually milder than at other island beaches. It is one of the most popular beaches for families, with picnic areas and parking.

Around it, Havre-aux-Maisons Island has hills, colorful houses and the path to Butte Ronde, a hill with views over the lagoons.
