About Port-au-Persil
Port-au-Persil is a small village in a cove on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence, about 25 km from La Malbaie via Route 138 toward Tadoussac. The road descends to the water’s edge, where a stream forms a waterfall before reaching the river.
The village postcard image is the little wooden chapel of Saint Peter, white with a red roof, connected to the Presbyterian community, sitting on the cove’s rocks. Around it are a few houses, a pier and artists’ studios. The village is part of the association of Quebec’s most beautiful villages.
There is no museum or visitor center: the visit is a walk around the cove, the pier and the waterfall. Respect private houses and properties.
