About Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park

Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park protects one of the deepest valleys in eastern Canada. The Malbaie River runs between rock cliffs that exceed 700 meters, in a valley carved by glaciers, with maple and fir forests on the slopes.

In season, a sightseeing boat goes up the river between the cliffs, and canoes and kayaks are available for rent on the calm stretches. The best-known trail is Acropole des Draveurs, demanding, about 10 km round trip with a steep climb to the summit, where you can see the whole valley. There are also flat riverside trails and cycling on the valley floor.

The park is managed by Sépaq and charges an entrance fee. Access is via a dirt road from Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs. Check opening dates and the current fee schedule.
