About Cape Enrage
Cape Enrage is a headland on the Bay of Fundy coast, about 25 km from Alma. Atop the cliff, roughly 40 meters above the sea, stands a square white wooden lighthouse, one of the oldest on New Brunswick’s coast.
The name comes from the turbulent waters around the cape, where the tide creates strong currents over a reef. From the lookout you can see the bay and, on clear days, the Nova Scotia shore. Stairs lead down to the pebble beach, where the cliff’s rock layers hold plant fossils from the Carboniferous period.
The site is managed by a non‑profit organization, with a visitor centre, a restaurant and seasonal adventure activities. The beach can only be visited at low tide; check the tide table and the current schedule.
