About Stadsparken
Stadsparken occupies the slope rising west of Jönköping’s center. From the top, the view takes in the city’s rooftops, the smaller lakes and the southern tip of Vättern, which stretches north until it disappears from view.
In the park is the Friluftsmuseet, an open-air museum with wooden buildings brought from the countryside that show how people lived in Småland. Nearby, the Fågelmuseet displays mounted birds and eggs, a collection assembled over decades.
The rest of the park has lawns, paths and resting spots, popular with locals on summer weekends. The climb is steep, but the route can be done on foot from the center.
Stadsparken is the best place to understand the town’s position among the lakes before heading down to the waterfront.
