How to get there

  • Letiště Leoše Janáčka Ostrava (OSR) Mošnov · 15 km
  • Štramberk 1 km

Approximate distances. Check flights and bus, train or boat schedules before you travel.

Štramberk station is close to the center, on the regional line that goes through Kopřivnice. From Ostrava, about 35 km away, the simplest route is by car or regional bus; by train you must change. Ostrava Airport is about 15 km away.

How many days

Half a day or one day covers the square, the Trúba tower and the Šipka cave. With two days you can include the Tatra museum in Kopřivnice.

When to go

From April to October, for the Kotouč trails and the climb to the Trúba. The Ascension pilgrimage, in May or June, fills the town. In winter the slopes become slippery and some places have reduced hours.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not for the center, which is explored on foot. A car helps if you want to combine Štramberk with Kopřivnice, Nový Jičín and Ostrava on the same day.
