What is Serra Serata

Serra Serata celebrates Italian immigration to Petrópolis and the influence of Italians on the city’s development. It is organized by Casa D'Italia Anita Garibaldi, with support from the city hall, and is part of the official city events calendar.

The Palácio de Cristal is the festival’s hub, with Italian gastronomy stalls offering dishes such as pasta, gnocchi, risotto and tiramisù, musical performances, dances and cooking workshops. One of the most traditional moments is the masked ball. Part of the program takes place in other cultural venues around the city.
