About Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville Beach is the main beach of Jacksonville, part of a continuous stretch of sand that continues north to Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach. It is its own city on the Atlantic coast, about 25 km from downtown Jacksonville.

The sand is wide and firm, good for walking and cycling at low tide, and the waves attract surfers. Along the beach there is a boardwalk, volleyball areas, and public access points with parking. Near the sand, First Street and Beach Boulevard host bars, restaurants, and surf shops.

In summer the beach fills on weekends. Between May and October the beach receives sea turtle nests, marked with stakes and tape.
