  • Brightline West Palm Beach Station 1 km

Approximate distances. Check flights and bus, train or boat schedules before you travel.

Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is about 5 km from downtown. The Brightline station downtown has trains to Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando, and I-95 runs west of the city. From the waterfront, bridges lead to the island of Palm Beach.

How many days

One day for downtown, the waterfront and the Norton Museum of Art; two days to add Manatee Lagoon and either Lion Country Safari or the Rapids water park.

When to go

From December to April days are usually dry and mild. From May to October it’s hot and humid, with afternoon showers. Manatee Lagoon hosts more manatees on cold winter days, generally from November to March. Hurricane season runs from June to November.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

For downtown and the waterfront, no: there are trolley buses downtown with no fare and the island of Palm Beach is one bridge away. For Lion Country Safari, which is driven through by car, and for the Rapids water park, a car is necessary.
