About Fifth Avenue South
Fifth Avenue South is the main street of Old Naples. It began to take shape in the 1940s, when the town was still small, and was renovated in the 1990s with wide sidewalks, trees, fountains and low Mediterranean- and Old Florida–style facades.
The street runs about 1 km between US-41 and the beach, and brings together shops, art galleries and restaurants with outdoor seating. A few blocks to the south is Third Street South, another historic street with historic homes and shops, and at its end the pier area, currently under reconstruction.
The two streets form the Old Naples neighborhood, which is explored on foot, with the beach always a few blocks away. In the winter season, there are art and music events on the sidewalks.
