About Russell-Fields Pier
The Russell-Fields Pier, also called the City Pier, extends about 450 meters over the Gulf of Mexico in central Panama City Beach. It was rebuilt in concrete after storms destroyed the former wooden structure, and is one of the longest piers on the Gulf Coast.
Anglers occupy the pier all day targeting mackerel, kingfish and other species, and it is common to see dolphins, rays and occasionally turtles in the clear water below. Non‑anglers can walk to the end for a smaller fee.
Pier Park, an open area of shops, restaurants and a cinema, sits in front of the pier, and the beaches on both sides are among the busiest in town.
