When to go
From November to March is calçot season, and the calçotada festival takes place at the end of January. The castells appear in the town square at several festivals throughout the year, especially Sant Joan in June and Santa Úrsula in October. Check the calendar before you go.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Not needed for the center, which is walkable, and the town has train and bus connections. A car helps for the monasteries of Santes Creus and Poblet and for attending calçotadas in rural areas.
