About Kalbarri coastline cliffs

South of Kalbarri village, the coast of Kalbarri National Park forms red sandstone cliffs more than 100 meters above the Indian Ocean. A sealed road links a series of lookouts over roughly 15 km.

At Natural Bridge, the sea has carved a rock arch at the cliff base. Nearby, Island Rock is an isolated column left from an older cliff. Further north, lookouts such as Mushroom Rock, Pot Alley and Red Bluff show other sea-sculpted forms.

A coastal trail, the Bigurda Trail, connects some of the lookouts along the cliff tops. From July to October, humpback whales often pass the coast and are sometimes visible from the lookouts.

There is no entry fee for the coastal lookouts. Several sections of the cliffs lack protective barriers.
