About Meelup (Meelup Beach / Meelup Regional Park)
Meelup Beach lies on the shore of Geographe Bay, about 4 km from Dunsborough, in a native-vegetation reserve between the town and Cape Naturaliste. The water is usually calm and clear, sheltered from winds and the waves of the Indian Ocean.
The light sand is framed by granite rocks and grassy areas with shade, picnic tables and barbecues. The beach is popular with families and for swimming, paddling and snorkeling near the rocks.
A coastal track links Meelup to other bay beaches, such as Castle Rock and Eagle Bay, and continues to Cape Naturaliste. From September to December whales are sometimes seen from the beach.
No entrance fee. In summer arrive early: the parking fills up.
