Gingerbread House (Perníková chaloupka) - Gingerbread Museum
Gingerbread and fairy-tale museum in an old 1882 hunting pavilion at the foot of Kunětická hora. It shows the history of Pardubice perník, a collection of decorated gingerbreads and scenes from the story of Hansel and Gretel.

About Gingerbread House (Perníková chaloupka) - Gingerbread Museum
The building was constructed in 1882 as a hunting pavilion for the nobility’s hunts in the woods at the foot of Kunětická hora. After years of neglect, it was restored in the early 2000s by a local association and turned into the Gingerbread and Fairy-Tale Museum, known as Perníková chaloupka, the gingerbread house.
One part of the museum presents the gingerbread makers’ craft and the Pardubický perník, with old molds and an exhibition of decorated gingerbreads from contests across the country. On certain days there are decoration demonstrations.
The other part is dedicated to the tale of Hansel and Gretel: themed rooms, a house decorated like the witch’s and a woods with characters. The place has a playful tone, aimed mainly at families with children.
The museum is a few minutes’ walk from Kunětická hora Castle, and the two are often visited together.
