About Nationaal Monument Kamp Vught

The Nationaal Monument Kamp Vught is in Vught, a few kilometres south of 's-Hertogenbosch, on the site of the former Herzogenbusch concentration camp. The camp was established by the SS during the German occupation of the Netherlands and operated from 1943 to 1944.

Jews, political prisoners, members of the resistance and others who were persecuted passed through there. Many were deported to extermination camps in the east; others died in the camp itself.

The memorial preserves part of the grounds and the crematorium, and shows a reconstructed barrack and a memorial with the names of the victims. Exhibitions tell the history of the camp and those who were there, and there is a route across the site.

Admission is charged separately; check the current price list. This is a place of remembrance: allow time for the exhibition and the route, and respect the site’s guidelines.
