About Jheronimus Bosch Art Center
The Jheronimus Bosch Art Center occupies the former Sint-Jacobskerk, St. James’s Church, in the center of 's-Hertogenbosch. It is dedicated to Jheronimus Bosch, who spent his life in the city and signed his name from it.
As no original Bosch paintings remain in the city, the center brings together reproductions of the artist’s entire painted oeuvre, in life size, allowing triptychs that are scattered across museums in several countries to be seen side by side. Sculptures and installations turn creatures from paintings like The Garden of Earthly Delights into three-dimensional forms.
The building is also part of the visit: the nave of the former church houses the reproductions, and the tower can be climbed to view the roofs of the historic center and the cathedral.
Admission is charged separately; check the current price list. The visit helps you recognize Bosch’s characters that appear around the city, from figures in the cathedral to the statue on the Markt.
