About Het Noordbrabants Museum
The Noordbrabants Museum, the museum of North Brabant, is located in the museum quarter of 's-Hertogenbosch, in the former Gouvernement, the 18th-century palace that once housed the provincial government. A courtyard and a sculpture garden connect the historic building to the newer wings.
The collection tells the history and art of Brabant from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. One of the most sought-after sections is about Vincent van Gogh, who was born in Brabant and painted in the province before moving to France: the museum has works from that period and periodically organizes exhibitions about the painter.
The museum also pays attention to Jheronimus Bosch, the city’s painter, with temporary exhibitions, and to other artists connected to the province. Exhibitions change throughout the year.
The Noordbrabants Museum is linked by a passage to the Design Museum Den Bosch, and both visits can be done in the same afternoon. Admission is charged separately; check the current price list.
