How many days

One day is enough for the Hospices, the Collégiale Notre-Dame and a tasting. With two days you can tour the Côte de Beaune, visit the Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune and the wine villages such as Pommard, Volnay and Meursault.

When to go

From May to October the weather is usually favorable. Harvest typically occurs in September. In November the Hospices wine sale takes place, and the town is very busy; book accommodation in advance. In winter it is cold and it gets dark early.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not for the town, which is best explored on foot. For the vineyards and nearby villages, a car, bicycle or tour helps. There are bike lanes between the vines. If you are going to taste wine, don’t drive.
