About Boca Raton Museum of Art
The Boca Raton Museum of Art began in the 1950s as an association of local artists and since 2001 has occupied its own building in Mizner Park, the square of shops, restaurants and apartments in downtown built in the Mediterranean style that shaped Boca Raton.
The collection gathers paintings, sculpture and works on paper by European and American artists of the 19th and 20th centuries, a photography collection and groups of pre-Columbian and African art. The sculpture garden sits next to the building.
The museum hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year, which often occupy much of the galleries. Mizner Park, around it, is the downtown promenade, with an amphitheater and restaurants.
