About Playa de la Patacona
Patacona beach is Alboraia’s beach and continues, without interruption, La Malvarrosa of Valencia. It is a wide strip of fine sand, with generally calm sea, accompanied by a promenade with a bike lane that links the two towns.
The southern section, closer to Valencia, is the most developed, with residential buildings, kiosks and restaurants on the promenade. Further north, the beach approaches the orchard fields and the mouth of the Carraixet ravine, where the Ermita dels Peixets is located.
In summer the beach has lifeguard stations and adapted access points. A tourist information point operates on the promenade during the busiest months.
It is an alternative to Valencia’s beaches for those arriving by metro or bus, and pairs well with a stop for horchata, the chufa-based drink associated with the town.
