About Colonnade of Bardejovské Kúpele
The center of Bardejovské Kúpele is organized around the colonnade, where the spa’s mineral springs emerge and have been used for health treatments for centuries. The springs are rich in minerals and carbon dioxide, and Herkules is considered the country’s strongest in mineral content.
The main colonnade, where the water comes out warm, is reserved for guests undergoing treatment. Visitors passing through can taste the cold water at the public spring, which is outside the colonnade. Around it, parks and promenades connect the historic spa buildings, and trails climb into the woods of the nearby hills.
The spa links its history to Empress Elisabeth, Sissi, who visited in the 19th century, and each year officially opens the treatment season with a blessing of the springs. It is a quiet place for a walk, well combined with a visit to the open-air museum just behind the colonnade.
