About Samobor Museum
The Samoborski Museum occupies the Livadić manor, an 18th-century Baroque mansion in an L shape, set in a park near the center. The building belonged to the family of composer and lawyer Ferdo Livadić.
The city museum has operated there since 1949. The collections include archaeological finds, everyday rural objects, traditional costumes, glassware, works of art and mementos of the Livadić family, including the composer’s piano. There is also material about the fašnik, Samobor’s carnival.
The manor underwent renovation and was reopened to the public in October 2025, according to the museum’s own report. The institution manages other sites, such as Vila Allnoch and the Sveta Barbara mine, in the village of Rude.
The park around the manor is a pleasant resting point between the square and the climb to the castle.
