About Meuse River Cruises

Seeing Dinant from the river helps make sense of the town: a narrow strip of houses between the Meuse and the cliffs, dominated by the Citadelle and the collegiate church's bell tower. Sightseeing boats depart from the quay on Avenue Winston Churchill, on the right bank, near the town centre.

The most popular route runs from Dinant to Anseremme and back in about 45 minutes, between the town's two locks. The boat goes past the Citadelle, Collégiale Notre-Dame, the Rocher Bayard and the Saint-Jean bridge, with recorded commentary in several languages.

In summer, in July and August, there is a longer round-trip cruise of about two hours to Freÿr. Along the way you pass the priory of Anseremme, the Freÿr rock faces used by climbers, and Freÿr Castle with its gardens.

Besides Croisières Mosanes, other companies run cruises on the Meuse from Dinant. In Namur, boats depart from the Grognon at the confluence with the Sambre.
