About Parc de Sept Heures
The Parc de Sept Heures is the large garden in the center of Spa. Since the 19th century it has been the promenade for those who came for the water cure: after drinking at the springs, visitors would walk its avenues, as doctors of the time prescribed.
The name, park of the seven o'clock, comes from the custom of strolling there in the late afternoon. The avenues rise gently toward the hill Annette et Lubin, among tall trees, flower beds, statues and a bandstand.
At the park entrance is the Galerie Léopold II, an iron-and-glass covered gallery from 1878, beside the old thermal baths. It houses an antiques and second-hand goods fair, events and summer concerts, and serves as shelter on rainy days.
The park links the flat town center to the base of the thermes' funicular and to the start of the trails that lead to the springs in the forest.
