About Uluru‑Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre
The Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre is inside the national park, a few minutes' drive from the base of Uluru. It’s the best place to start your visit: it presents the life, language and Tjukurpa of the Anangu, the laws and the stories that explain the creation of the landscape and the rules for living together.
The buildings, with curved forms and local materials, house exhibitions with objects, panels and recordings in Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara, as well as information about the park’s nature and about the return of the land to the Anangu in 1985.
The centre includes Aboriginal art galleries run by artists and communities from the region, offering paintings, wood sculptures and other pieces for sale. There is also a café and the park rangers’ information desk, with maps and the schedule of guided walks.
Out of respect, some areas and objects cannot be photographed; follow the signs.
