Location in Watarrka National Park, about 300 km from Yulara and 323 km from Alice Springs, with no town proper: there are accommodations, a service station and the visitor base near the canyon. Kings Canyon has red sandstone cliffs and a rim walk, with views down into the canyon and a waterhole among palms. Nearby is Kathleen Springs, with a waterhole at the base of the escarpment.
