About Noosa Main Beach and Hastings Street

Noosa’s main beach, Noosa Main Beach, lies in Laguna Bay between the mouth of the Noosa River and the national park headland. Because it faces north it is sheltered from the southeast winds that prevail on the coast, and waves are usually small, making it one of the Sunshine Coast’s most popular family beaches.

Lifeguards patrol the beach every day, with flags marking the bathing area. At the points, when there are waves, surfers take advantage of the breaks off the headland.

Behind the beach runs Hastings Street, with restaurants, cafés, shops and accommodation among trees. A promenade connects the beach to the national park entrance at the end of the street.

In the late afternoon the waterfront becomes lively with people returning from the trails and the beach.
