About Turquoise Bay

Turquoise Bay is in Cape Range National Park, about 60 km from Exmouth via the coastal road. The white-sand beach has the Ningaloo Reef a few meters from the waterline, with corals, colorful fish, turtles and rays.

The most famous activity is drift snorkelling: you enter the water at the southern end of the beach and the current slowly carries you over the corals, parallel to the shore, to an exit point further north. Signs on the beach mark the entry and exit areas.

The current becomes stronger near the reef opening at the tip of the beach, so it is important to exit the water before that point. There is a calmer area in the adjacent bay for those who prefer to swim without a strong current.

The beach has no shade or facilities. Park entry is paid; check the current rates.
