About Cape Tourville Lighthouse
Cape Tourville is on the east side of the Freycinet Peninsula, about 10 km from Coles Bay. On top of the granite cliffs, a small automatic lighthouse marks the coastline for ships.
A wooden boardwalk of about 600 meters, flat and wheelchair accessible, runs around the lighthouse along the cliffs. From it you see the open sea, coastal islands, the northern tip of Wineglass Bay and the Hazards.
Between September and November, and again in autumn, humpback and southern right whales often pass along the coast and are sometimes seen from the lookout. Seabirds fly over the cliffs year-round.
The access road is unsealed for the final section. A national parks pass is required.
