About Crocosaurus Cove
Crocosaurus Cove is on Mitchell Street in downtown Darwin and brings you up close to saltwater crocodiles, the largest living reptile, common in the rivers and coast of northern Australia. Some of the animals exceed 5 meters and were moved there after being removed from inhabited areas.
The tanks have glass walls, and visitors watch feeding sessions in which keepers explain crocodile behavior and biology. There are also aquariums with fish from the northern rivers, such as barramundi, turtles and an area for reptiles and lizards.
The best-known attraction is the Cage of Death, an acrylic cage that is lowered into the tank of a large crocodile with one or two visitors inside; booking and payment are separate. A pool allows you to swim next to a tank of smaller crocodiles, separated by glass.
Entry is paid; check the current price list. The visit is recommended for all ages.
