Teotihuacan – Estado do México Destination Mexico City and Teotihuacan

How to get there

  • Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles (NLU) Zumpango · 40 km
  • Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México Benito Juárez (MEX) Cidade do México · 50 km

Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

From Mexico City direct buses depart from Terminal Norte to the archaeological zone in about an hour; there are also organized tours and rideshare cars. By car, take the México–Pirámides highway.

How many days

One day, as a round trip from the capital. Staying one night locally allows arriving at the site at opening or taking the sunrise balloon flight.

When to go

From October to April, during the dry season. There is little shade at the site: bring a hat and water. From May to October, prefer the morning before afternoon rains.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

No. Buses from Terminal Norte and organized tours reach the archaeological zone. A car helps if you want to combine Acolman on the same day.
