About Capilano Suspension Bridge
The suspension bridge over the Capilano River was first built in 1889 from hemp rope and planks, later replaced by steel cables. Today it is about 137 meters long and sits roughly 70 meters above the river, swaying with the movement of those who cross.
On the other side, the Treetops Adventure links Douglas-fir trees by suspended walkways, some about 30 meters above the ground. The Cliffwalk is a narrow walkway anchored to the canyon’s granite wall, with sections of glass flooring over the void.
The park also features totem poles, exhibits about the temperate rainforest and the area’s history. At year’s end, the trees and the bridge are decorated with Christmas lights. It is a private park; there is an admission fee, so check the current pricing.
