About Grouse Mountain
Grouse Mountain sits just above North Vancouver, about 20 minutes from downtown. The Skyride, a large-cabin gondola, rises to nearly 1,100 meters, offering views of downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, the harbour, the Fraser River delta and, on clear days, the islands and U.S. peaks.
At the top there are short trails, viewpoints, restaurants and, in summer, a refuge where orphaned grizzly bears live. The Grouse Grind, a trail of about 2.9 km with more than 2,800 steps up the slope, is one of the region’s most famous climbs; the descent is by gondola.
In winter the mountain has ski and snowboard runs lit at night, high-elevation skating and snowshoe trails. The gondola is ticketed; check the current price list.
