About Royal Ontario Museum
The Royal Ontario Museum, known as the ROM, brings natural history and world cultures together in one place. It’s on Bloor Street, near the University of Toronto and the Yorkville neighbourhood. The entrance mixes the early-20th-century stone building with the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, an angular glass-and-aluminum wing.
The dinosaur galleries are among the most visited, with mounted skeletons and fossils found in western Canada. There are rooms of minerals and meteorites, biodiversity, Egyptian and Roman antiquities, and one of the largest collections of Chinese art outside China.
Galleries dedicated to the Indigenous peoples of Canada display objects, clothing and art from different nations. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions, usually requiring a separate ticket. Admission is paid; check the current price list.
