About Heritage Park

Heritage Park is one of the largest open-air museums in Canada. It is in south Calgary, on the shore of the Glenmore Reservoir, and brings together more than a hundred historic buildings, many moved from other Alberta towns and reassembled as a village.

The visit covers different eras: a fur trading post, a prairie farm, an early-20th-century town with a blacksmith, shop, hotel, church and school, and an area focused on the 1930s–1950s with a collection of vintage cars. Costumed interpreters explain everyday life.

A steam train circles the village and a paddlewheel boat offers rides on the reservoir. The village is fully open generally from May to October; the rest of the year only the entrance plaza and special events are open. Admission is charged; check the current fee schedule.
