About Canmore Nordic Centre
The Canmore Nordic Centre sits on the slope above the town and was built for the cross-country skiing and biathlon events of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, held in Calgary. Today it is a provincial park and an athlete training centre.
In winter, dozens of kilometres of cross-country ski trails are groomed, including a section lit for night skiing, and equipment rental and lessons are available. In summer the same trails are used for mountain biking, hiking and running, with routes for beginners and more experienced users.
From the park you can see the Bow River valley and the peaks surrounding Canmore. There is no park entrance fee; equipment rental and some activities are paid.
