About Kusttram

The Kusttram is the tram line that runs along the entire Belgian coast for 67 kilometres, from Knokke-Heist near the Dutch border to De Panne near the French border. It is cited as the longest tram line in the world.

There are 67 stops connecting the coastal towns and villages, such as Knokke-Heist, Blankenberge, Ostende, Middelkerke, Nieuwpoort and De Panne. The tram is operated by De Lijn, the public transport company of Flanders.

In Ostende the tram stops near the train station and continues through the town towards the neighbouring beaches. It is the practical way to get to Raversyde in the west or to Blankenberge and Knokke-Heist in the east.

Much of the route runs close to the dunes and the dikes, with stretches that offer views of the sea and the seaside towns.
