About Albertstrand e Casino Knokke
Albertstrand is the stretch of waterfront on the west side of Knokke town center, with a beach, promenade and the Albertplein, a square facing the sea. It is one of the busiest spots in the town in summer.
On the square is Casino Knokke, opened in the 1920s and later renovated. The building is known for the murals by Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte in the main hall, the series The Enchanted Domain, painted in the 1950s, and for hosting concerts and events. Access to the gaming rooms follows its own rules, with age limits and ID required.
Along the promenade there are cafés, restaurants and shops, and the beach has huts and sailing clubs in season. From here the promenade runs east to Het Zoute and west to Duinbergen and Heist.
This stretch is good for an evening walk and to get a sense of Knokke's seaside character.
