A region to enjoy
at your own pace.

Safranbolu preserves Ottoman houses on stone streets; Amasra adds the Black Sea coast to the trip.

In Safranbolu’s old core, the terrain arranges the position of the houses and the views between roofs. Domestic architecture is the main focus: the Kaymakamlar house-museum allows a look inside, while the neighborhood paths show the relationship between dwelling, commerce and public spaces.

The urban ensemble is a World Heritage site and deserves a walking visit, with time to climb, descend and stop at viewpoints. Amasra offers a different scale, with small bays and a fortified core facing the sea. The two towns complement each other, but the route between them takes part of the day.

The region is on Turkey’s Asian side, with a climate different from the Mediterranean. Rain can occur in various months; inland, winter is usually cold.

This destination brings together 2 cities: Safranbolu, Amasra.
