About Wither Hills Farm Park
The Wither Hills form the southern edge of Blenheim: dry, rolling hills that separate the Wairau Valley from the Awatere Valley. Much of the area is a public farm maintained by the Marlborough council, where sheep and cattle share space with walking and cycling trails of various levels.
The trails climb from the southern suburbs up to the ridgelines, where you can see the pattern of vineyards in the valley, Blenheim town centre, the mouth of the Wairau River and, on clear days, the sea. Walks range from under an hour to half a day, and there are dedicated mountain-bike routes.
The terrain is open with little shade, and Marlborough’s dry climate causes vegetation to dry out in summer. For that reason the park can close on high fire-risk days, and some areas are closed during stock-management periods.
