About Faro di Portofino
The Portofino lighthouse stands at Punta del Capo, the tip of the promontory, about 40 meters above the sea. It was built in 1917 and is now automated and operated by the Italian Navy.
The path starts in the village, passes the church of San Giorgio and Castello Brown, and continues along a paved trail between walls, olive trees and pines. The walk is short and almost flat after the initial climb.
At the tip, the view opens over the golfo do Tigullio, with Santa Margherita, Rapallo and, further away, the coast as far as Sestri Levante. On the other side, the open sea and the park's slopes.
The lighthouse has no interior visits; the activity is the walk and the lookout view around it.
