How many days
One day is enough to walk the Monterreal walls, see the Pinta replica, visit the Virgem da Rocha and the town centre with the collegiate church. Many people make a day trip from Vigo. With more time, the village is a base for the Val Miñor beaches and for A Guarda.
When to go
From June to September it usually rains less; it’s the beach season and the port is busier. The first weekend of March features the Festa da Arribada, a medieval fair that commemorates the arrival of the Pinta. Winters are rainy.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
No. Buses connect Baiona with Vigo, and the town centre, the harbour and Monterreal can be done on foot. The Virgem da Rocha is about 1 km from the centre, on a short uphill walk.
