About Antônio Rosa Municipal Park
Parque Municipal Antônio Rosa sits on the high point of São Thomé das Letras, in the Alto do Cruzeiro neighborhood, about 500 meters from the Igreja Matriz. It is a landscape ensemble protected by the city and the town's most visited attraction.
The best-known structure is the Casa da Pirâmide, built of São Tomé stone with a pyramid-shaped roof, from where you can see the surrounding mountain range and valleys. Nearby are the Cruzeiro, a wooden cross about 4 meters high at one of the town's highest points, and the stone lookout. About 600 meters away, still inside the park, is the Pedra da Bruxa, a rock formation that resembles the profile of a witch.
The park is a gathering place late in the afternoon, when residents and visitors climb up to watch the sun set over the mountains. On nights without clouds or fog, the sky appears very starry above the ridge.

On foot, climbing up from the center via Rua Doutor Jefferson Gonzaga along the stone pavement, about 500 meters from the Igreja Matriz. By car you can get close via the paved road.
Tip
Wear sturdy footwear: there are loose stones around the pyramid. Bring a flashlight for the descent after sunset and carry your trash out with you.
