About Museo Naval de la Nación
The Museo Naval de la Nación tells the story of navigation and the Marinha argentina. It operates on the Paseo Victorica in Tigre, in the building of the navy's first mechanical workshops, erected in 1879, facing the river Luján.
The collection includes ship models from various periods, nautical charts, navigation instruments, weapons, uniforms, paintings and onboard objects. There are rooms about Antarctic explorations and about the Falklands War.
Outside, the Parque de Artillería y Aviación displays cannons and aircraft of the naval aviation, as well as the original command bridge of the aviso ARA Alférez Sobral, in tribute to the Falklands combatants.
The museum is administered by the Marinha argentina. The visit is self-guided through the rooms and pairs well with a walk along the Paseo Victorica and the Museo de Arte Tigre at the end of the same promenade.
